The Observatory is a location in the city of Bloxburg, which was introduced in Version 0.6.5 and revamped in Version 0.11.8. This location serves as an aesthetic building for players to relax, view the ocean, look at the different constellations, and wonder about space and the distant cosmos.
Sitting on some of the benches can improve player's moods. Reading the books in the library of the observatory can level up the player’s intelligence skill.
Building Overview & Purpose
Players must take the tunnel (near Riverside Estates) or climb the mountain (near Lovely Lumber) in order to reach the Observatory. When they arrive, there will be a parking lot in front of the Observatory. Here, players can park their vehicles. The observatory also is surround by trees and a long footpath leading into the building. On entering, you’ll be greeted by Dr. Astrobloxiticus.
The building has two stories and five rooms. The library, presentation room, telescope/constellations area, the lobby and the secret room. The building has no windows, but the dome at the top can be opened at closed. Doors in the building cannot be interacted with.
The front of the building has a staircase and poles around the entry. There is a footpath leading from the parking lot to the building and there are multiple trees surrounding it. The building has a balcony on its backside with can give you a view of Bloxburg and the Beach. The Observatory has white walls, a white roof and a semi-transparent and glass dome from where the giant telescope is pointing out. The doors of the Observatory are always open.
The Observatory can be used to level up the intelligence skill, or boost up moods. The Observatory has no big purpose (as of yet), but could soon be a future job. However, it is a great location for roleplaying and learning about the wonders of the cosmos.
Secret Room
The Observatory has a secret room which can be accessed by opening the last bookshelf in the library. The secret room is dark and gives the player low-gravity. There is also a model of the earth and the floor has a moon-like texture to create the feeling of you being on the moon. The secret room has no purpose apart from being a fun little roleplay feature of the moon.
Trivia
- The Giant Seashell is located close to the observatory, under the water.
- There was also a little noob Easter egg located next to the tunnel. This was removed in the Observatory revamp.
- Speculation believes that the noob Easter egg was a model of Coeptus. It is unknown what role the noob is playing.
- Before benches were removed, users could sit down by the door and get a split-second view of what's inside of the building, which was in fact a great big space of nothing (before the Summer 2023 Update (Observatory Revamp)).
- Players can drive or walk to the top of the mountain from the Observatory. All players need to do is take a left from the tunnel, and drive through a narrow space, which will eventually greet them with some hills that will take them straight to the top.
- There is a secret room that can be accessed by opening the secret bookshelf door. It leads to a room where there is low gravity
- When you click on the secret door in the Observatory, you can click the "Lock for Guests" button, but it does not do anything
- During the Elf Hunt 2020, Elf Hunt 2021, Elf Hunt 2022, and Elf Hunt 2023 an elf was hidden on or in the observatory.
