Were you looking for Training instead?

Athletic is one of ten skills which can be leveled up by purchasing and using various items in the Training and Garden sections of Build Mode. Players can also visit the Bloxburg Gym to train their athletic skills for free.

Unlike like most of the other skills, with the exception of Cooking and Gardening, Athletic now has one known benefit. You are now able to run and train stamina and speed with the Athletic skill.

Exercising decreases the Energy and the Hygiene mood.

After using items that increase athletics Workout Fatigue is applied, which increases Fun but decreases Energy and Hygiene.

Trivia

• One of the most speculated purposes for the athletic skill before the new update was that it would give a boost of speed once the player reaches the level 10 cap, but this is now true. In the newest update 0.11.7 you are now able to run faster and longer at levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30.
• As of v0.9.7, soccer items do not increase a player's skill.
• The in-game character exhibits the capacity to bench press around 245 pounds, using a setup composed of two 50-pound plates on each side of a 45-pound bar. The number of repetitions performed in this activity is known to increase as the character's athletic skill level progresses in the game.
  • Note that this is unrealistic as a beginner cannot bench 245 pounds.
• The free weights only include 50 lb plates, with the standardized plate sizes being 2.5,5,10,25,45.
• The in-game character animations change after level 10 and level 20, from the character being less experienced and doing silly mistakes to more experienced animations. For example, with the punching bag, the character under level 10 gets hit by the bag at one point; over level ten, the character successfully hits the bag and does not get hit.
• Nutrition bars increase the character's athletic skill XP gain by +10% for 60 seconds.
• Protein shakes increase the character's athletic skill XP gain by +20% for about 3 minutes.
